Columbia University's Center for Climate Systems Research, part of the Earth Institute and affiliated with NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, is a leading institution in regional climate change projections, impacts, and adaptation.
Members of CCSR have participated in numerous climate impacts and adaptation assessments, including the New York City Panel on Climate Change, New York State ClimAID report, and their work has helped guide NASA's agency wide adaptation process. CCSR houses the Urban Climate Change Research Network, a consortium of more than 400 researchers in developing and developed countries around the world working to enhance science-based decision-making on climate and related sustainability issues in cities.
As part of the Climate and Urban Systems Partnership, CCSR scientists serve as the climate science provider. CCSR tailors climate science content to reflect the interests and concerns of each urban center with analyses drilling down to the neighborhood level wherever possible.
